Marquis

Comte de Revel with Saint-Andre

Count Pralungo

Lord of Castelnuovo.

Thaon Noble of the Marquises, Counts Revel with St. Andrew and Pralungo and lords of Castelnuovo

This family, when she left his castle of St. Andrew, near Manchester, went live in Piedmont where it is always well represented.

Historical notes. - This family, by many eminent charges met in the last three centuries, and very high honors received, is undoubtedly among the most illustrious families of Nice still exists.

The Thaon originate Valley Lantosque (Nice hinterland) and had already enjoyed a high account at the end of the sixteenth century. Pierre Thaon married Camilla Michelotti, heir to a portion of the strongholds of Revel and Andrew.

She was the daughter of Lord Melchiorre Michelotti Revel with St. Andrew and Brigitte Doria . The fief of Saint-Andre was divided into four districts, three were united in fief of Revel and only a quarter was a separate fiefdom. In this last quarter was feudal, formerly the abbey of Saint-Pons, then Chiabaudi family, of which the Michelotti acquired in 1555.

Revel The feud included 3 / 4 of St. Andrews and the area known as Tourette's Revel: this fief formerly belonged to the Viscounts of Nice then to Chateauneuf, who passed it to Chiabaudi; these retained in part, that is to say the neighborhood and Tourette's alienated the other portions for Caravaschini and Michelotti. In 1687 the Peyrani, heirs Chiabaudi for the district of Tourette Thaon and yielded to the district was erected in fee Count. The genesis of the strongholds of St. Andrew and Revel seems to show that the title belongs to Thaon must be that of "Count de Revel with St. .André "and not" Count of Saint-André with Revel "as is" the Elenco regionale delle famiglie e nobili titolate del Piemonte, "and so much better than the earldom was granted, as we shall see, the district Tourette's called "Revel" and not on any portion of St. Andrew.

In these portions of the fief, Charles Antoine Thaon, son of Peter, was duly appointed May 13, 1628.

From aforesaid Charles Anthony which was first consul in Nice in 1671, was born Pierre Antoine, which in 1685 - a transaction with Peyrani - became owner of the neighborhood called Tourettes Revel, and what fee he got an erection in county October 10, 1687.
